RELEASE DATE: DEC TBC
LABEL: AZUL MUSIC

Chakras is a unique and experimental space of creation and artistic energies in Sao Paulo, Brazil ' a restaurant, art gallery, lounge, club and now purveyor of sublime mixes; it brings you the second musical outing following on from 2005's 'From Brazil to Ibiza'.

Brazil has been put on the map of late with its clubs being named the best in the world, world famous DJs naming tracks after said clubs and the emergence of exciting DJs from across the whole of South America.

This double cd promotes a harmony between what you can expect to hear at Chakras (and indeed across Brazil) with the undeniable cutting edge sounds that continue to come out Germany. In Chakras tradition the first mix is by head honcho Miguel Reis. It's perfect for a day setting while CD 2 (by German DJs Chris Wood and Toni Rios) is composed very much with the night in mind.

Miguel Reis aka Djourney brings tracks that blend the atmosphere of the restaurant with world music, lounge, bossa and house. Including gems such as 'Triptico' - Gotan Project, 'It's only' - Matthew Herbert, 'Mais' - Rosalia de Souza and 'Rouge' ' Frontera.

To compile and mix the Night CD, it made sense for Chakras to invite two DJs of prominence from the German scene, Chris Wood and Toni Rios. Their offering includes Booka Shade's 'Trespass 06', Matthew Johnson ' '7.19FM David', Pascal Feos ' 'Tanzbombe' as well as their own productions with Chris's 'Mellowtron' and Eyerer & Rios 'Liberacion'.

Miguel Reis aka Djourney ' Like so many, a trip to Ibiza in 1992 ignited Miguel's passion for dance music in all its forms. It sent him on a path of world wide travel, with his musical tastes at the core of where he went and what he did. First stop was London and by '96 he was invited to host weekly parties in various venues across London, including stints at Ministry of Sound. Being Brazilian he longed for sunnier climes so moved to Rome just before the millennium. Before long he was playing at Ripart Café and Max as well as travelling around Europe playing in clubs and private parties including Pacha and Sa Trinxa in Ibiza and Kiss Kiss Club (Frankfurt). Djourney produced Chakras first compilation, which was even hailed by some as the 'substitute to the Café del Mar Compilation'. He also assembles regular Chakras/Djourney Podcasts. After soaking up various influences from across the globe he returned to Brazil and felt suitably inspired to open his first Chakras venture in his home town of SÔø‡Ôø‡o Paulo.

Toni Rios ' Toni's musical initiation took place at the Easy Club, Limburg when he was 18 years old. In the early 90's a certain Mr Sven Vath took notice and Toni and soon became integral to seminal nights at Omen Club, Frankfurt. After 3 years Sven invited Toni to be part of the Cocoon family, taking him on at the agency, the club nights and enlisting him to look after Cocoon Recordings with Pauli Steinbach.

Toni has had dozens of releases on his own Soap Recordings (which he set up with Chris Liebing), Danza Electronica, Cocoon Recordings and Delirium. Previous albums include 'Amnesia Ibiza Underground # 5', (Fiftyfive Records) and 'Toni Rios in the Mix - Secret Ingredients' (Cocoon Recordings). Toni continues his globe-trotting antics for gigs and of course, not forgetting his parties with Sven. His musical taste errs on the darker, harder side of all things techno and house
Chris Wood ' A staple in the German house scene for the last decade Chris Wood isn't keen on lazy pigeon-holing, he moves with the times and plays a variety of deep house, techno, tech house, electro and whatever else in between depending in his mood. His versatile attitude has kept him busy with gigs at Monza (Frankfurt), Penelope and Space (Ibiza), Elanclub (Meiningen), Stereo Bar (Frankfurt), the Love Parade (Berlin) and more. In 2003 Chris was a sound engineer and presenter of the 'Practice House Mix Show' on Radio X, Frankfurt. At this time he also started to work for the GEM/Elektrolux Network, he still works there today and spends time collaborating with pioneering techno DJ Pascal Feos on their labels Level Non Zero and Omychron. Chris's catalogue of remixes and productions include work for the likes of Tony Senghore with an innovative interpretation of 'I Need a Freak' together with DJ Sebbo. His own efforts include 'Desire' and 'Seis o Seis' (both on Level Non Zero) as well as continuing to work with Pascal Feos, Gabriel Le Mar and Alex Azary on the album 'Beautiful Someday'.

A world of influences has been lovingly crafted into this mix and the result is a unique and diverse release - an essential for anyone's collection.
