Over the last three years, Avaland has established itself as the West Coasts premier electronic music event bringing internationally renowned DJs and producers into the heart of Hollywood. Avalon Hollywood is the only West Coast Club nominated in the Club World Awards Super Club Category for the past three years.
For the last ten months, Avaland has embarked on a unique creative path that most venues would shy away from. The Avaland team of Garrett Chau, Craig Edwards, Damian Murphy, Kobi Danan and Erika Slouber along with promoters Liquified, One Promotions & Spundae are creating a sound and identity different from that of any other North American venue and shaping the West Coasts electronic music scene. Further, Avaland has made a commitment to build and expose domestic talent that US clubs have traditionally overlooked. Residencies with two of Americas most talented producers Matthew Dear and Trent Cantrelle along with local DJ crews Droog, Urban LA Nights, Saturday Night Sessions and Influx Audio highlight Avalands commitment to providing US artists a platform from which they can gain their well deserved recognition.
The Avaland sound has established itself as leading-edge, diverse and synonymous with the best global electronic-dance music. This year alone, Avaland held a Minus Showcase with Richie Hawtin, Magda and Marco Carola, booked Berlins finest Booka Shade and Boyz Noise and Axwell of the Swedish House Mafia, hosted Michael Meyer, Gui Boratto, Mark Farina, Josh Wink, Fedde Le Grande, Ladytron, Ryan Elliott and Jamie Jones of the Crosstown Rebels as well as a rare and amazing West Coast marathon set from Danny Tenaglia. Avaland has also expanded its live music performances and will feature TrentemÔø‡Ôø‡ller in Concert and Martin Buttrich (Live) having already hosted Miguel Migs Live supported by two live vocalists and a band.
In the coming months, Avalon will debut the Avaland Fall-Winter Series which will showcase some of the most exciting names in electronic-dance music today. Rather than viewing each Saturday in isolation, Avalands Fall-Winter Series (September-December 2007) will run as a season, booked deliberately in a manner that allows the Fall-Winter Series to evolve week-by-week through to the end of the year. Confirmed artists include John Digweed, Stephan Bodzin, Jesse Rose, Tiefschwartz, Loco Dice, Sander Kleinenberg, Adam Beyer, Laurent Garnier, Claude VonStroke and Erick Morillo with many more to follow. A number of these artists will play the Late-Nite Session in recognition of the fact that some of the best moments on the dance floor occur in the later hours. In addition, Avaland is bringing the Wiggle crew from the worlds most influential venue Fabric-UK for a first time collaboration of their legendary Wiggle Parties featuring Terry Francis, Eddie Richards & Nathan Coles along with DJ T (Get Physical). Avaland will also host a second Superfreq Express party with Mr. C, Adultnapper and Dollz At Play, which at the moment is the hottest party in Ibiza.
