Focussed on raising some of the most important environmental issues..

Planet Nottingham is an event focussed on raising some of the most important environmental issues that affect 18-30 years old today. Not only the major worldwide issues of climate change and global warming but more individually pertinent issues such as recycling, reducing consumption, local environmental issues and much more.

This is the second event in what is quickly growing into a concept that will tour the UK in 2008.

Aims of the Event

1. To be carbon neutral (using carbon offsetting)

2. Advertised using recycled materials and more paper-less methods

3. To promote major issues that affect 18-30 year olds and inspire them to change

4. Recycle or reuse all materials used on the night

5. To sign up people on the night to make pledges to improve their eco footprint

6. To show that is it possible for young adults to have a great time and make a positive difference at the same time.

The most important part of Planet Nottingham is that the event will look at ways in which it can help the local environment by investing into a local project. The second Planet Nottingham, is to be held on Friday June 2nd 2007 at Nottinghams Marcus Garvey Ballroom, and will contribute all of its profits to green community projects working in deprived areas of the city.

The last event featured the likes of Altern8, Dreadzone and Utah Saints. The event was a massive success, and also saw over 200 people sign up to a pledge to improve their eco-footprint. The forthcoming event is expected to be even bigger with advanced tickets already selling.

Whos Involved?

Spectrum

As if being a multiple award-winning club brand, an award winning record label and hosting some of the biggest leftfield club events across the UK and Europe wasnt enough, Spectrum has decided it is time to invest time into another venture. Something new, exciting and whats more, is aimed at highlighting some very important issues to an audience often guilty of ignoring them.

Pete Jordan said after the success of the first event on so many fronts (a great party and lots of positive feedback from the concept of the event) we were keen to use what we learned first time around and build up and even better second event. With a superb line up in place its going to be something special I can guarantee!.

The first Planet Nottingham in June exceeded all of our expectations and I am really pleased to be involved again in what is looking like becoming a very worthwhile project!.

The Event
