Irelands music scene has never witnessed anything like it!

Planetlove will make music-scene history across Ireland on September 8th this year by hosting two festivals, on the same day, North and South of the border.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

The 9th annual Planetlove WKD Festival 2007, in association with BBC Radio 1, will take place at Shanes Castle, County Antrim, while at the same time, at the Fairyhouse Racecourse, Ratoath, County Meath, Southern Ireland will get their first Planetlove festival experience at the Planetlove Summer Session in association with 2FM.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

The worlds most famous and acclaimed dance music stars will perform over 12 hours as part of a 70-strong line up at each event: on 7 stages at Planetlove WKD North, and on 6 stages at the Planetlove Summer Session South.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Many of these artists will play both festivals and will be transported between Antrim and Ratoath by a fleet of helicopters.

BBC Radio One will be broadcasting live across the UK and world from Planetlove north as well as recording DJ sets for future broadcast, while 2FM will be broadcasting live across Ireland from Planetlove Summer Session.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

This means that Northern Irelands home-grown Planetlove festivals will have a combined potential audience of 18 million people on September 8th!

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Its a big expansion for Planetlove and a big undertaking for us, says Planetlove co-promoter Eddie Wray. The line ups for both events are exceptional as we continue to work with the most popular dance music artists in the world. And more than ever before, there will be a big emphasis on the shows themselves, with many very unique visual and special effects. September 8th will be a great day for electronic music in Ireland, and thanks to the line up, a dream day out for clubbers across the country.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Our line ups are awesome, says co-promoter Judith Farrell-Rowan. We have our staples in top world DJs Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten which makes us very proud, and its great to see guys like Adam Ficek from Babyshambles playing a DJ set, and Fedde Le Grand who is very much the man of the moment, and vocalist Jan Johnston the line up. Together - with even more emphasis on the show this year - Planetlove north and south - will ROCK!

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Once again WKD are proud to partner Planetlove for another years festival. With such an amazing line up its one not to be missed Well see you there, says Judith Robinson, brand manager for WKD and Beverage Brands.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Planetlove is Ireland's biggest and most celebrated dance music festival, organised by Lisburn based company PLM (Planetlove Music) Promotions, headed by husband and wife team Eddie Wray-Rowan and Judith Farrell-Rowan. For two years running they have been won an award for making the Biggest Contribution to Dance Music in Ireland.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

The landmark festival which has been instrumental in putting Northern Ireland on the worldwide clubbing map - was conceived back in 1998 by a team led by the couple which included Sandra Gourley, Dave Sinton and Barry Graham. It was the first ever outdoor dance event in Ireland and set a precedent which was then followed in the Republic of Ireland by other major dance festivals.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Over the ensuing eight years, the burgeoning Planetlove has been hosted at three locations - first near Cookstown in County Tyrone, then at Nutts Corner airfield in County Antrim and then in 2003 it moved to its current beautiful home - at Shane's Castle near Antrim town.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

The worlds biggest and most celebrated artistes have all graced the many and eclectic Planetlove stages over the years: Tiesto, Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Eddie Halliwell, Mauro Picotto, Judge Jules, Christopher Lawrence, Steve Lawler, John Digweed, Lisa Lashes, Fergie, Yoji Biomehanika, Happy Mondays DJs, DJ Sneak, DJ Luna, and the one staple on the annual Planetlove line up is World Number 1 DJ Paul Van Dyk who enjoys a special relationship with the festival and its clubbers.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Bands to have appeared include Faithless, Scooter, Chicane, N Trance, while a variety of electronic genres have been embraced over the years - trance, house, techno, hard dance, hip hop, breaks, psy trance and many sub genres therein.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

A commitment to local DJs as well as local up and coming talent is part of the PLM Promotions' blueprint for the festival and associated events. In recent years Northern Irish charity for aspiring DJs Keymix have hosted an outdoor stage, while many other clubs and clubbing organisations from Northern Ireland, as well as major UK clubbing brands, have hosted their own stages.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Rendezvous - the sister brand of Planetlove which caters for old skool, happy hardcore and in recent times nu skool progressive hardcore is a firm and popular feature of the Planetlove festival since the event's inception. A diverse range of DJs and acts have charged up the electrical Rendezvous arena - among them Charley Lownoise, Dye Witness, Ultimate Buzz, Slipmatt, Hixxy, Sharkey, Force and Styles, Scott Brown among many others, and of course regular Northern Irish favourites like Tizer, Sci, Binman and Xray.

Ôø‡Ôø‡

"Planetlove is about enjoying clubbing and dance music at its most musically indulgent," says co-promoter Judith Farrell-Rowan. "It's about filling up your senses with the smell of grass and big canvasses, hearing your favourite tunes on a soul shaking sound system, it's about seeing your all time favourite DJs - or fifty of them - right in front of your eyes; it's about the taste of a cool beer in the warm sunshine, and all of this together with the feel good factor of those blissful big hugs from good friends and new friends because that one day a year that you're waiting on has finally arrived!

Ôø‡Ôø‡

"And each year we try to turn up the magic just a little more by way of the stages we host, the DJs we choose. the quality of our shows and site activities, and our associations."

Ôø‡Ôø‡

Eddie Wray says: "What does Planetlove mean to me? It means unification of race creed and culture, love, fun, happiness and freedom of youth...memories that will last a lifetime."

Ôø‡Ôø‡

2005 saw the brand develop further with an indoor winter and spring parties at the Kings Hall, Belfast. This years event marks festival Number 9 for Planetlove and the launch of a Southern festival that same day is an indicator of how far the festival and Planetlove brand - has come!
