Since his beginnings at legendary Manchester club The Hacienda, Sasha has remained a DJ revered by huge numbers of DJ’s, music fans and followers of club culture. Cited by many in the media has being central to the widespread popularisation of house and techno in the UK, Sasha has continued to embrace modern technology and new sounds in order to ensure he stays at the forefront of modern dance music. Releases like “Airdrawndagger”, the “Xpander” EP and the epic “Northern Exposure” collaboration with John Digweed remain hugely popular but it’s Sasha’s awe inspiring DJ sets that mark him out as one of the most in demand jocks in the world today. With his appearances in Manchester becoming increasingly rare, this appearance at The Warehouse Project looks set to be a memorable occasion. If one of the worlds greatest DJ’s isn’t enough on Friday 23rd May, then how about one of the worlds best electronic live acts too?! Booka Shade make their Warehouse Project debut with a whole heap of new material to showcase alongside their seminal club hits that made them, and their Get Physical label, the most important record label in contemporary dance music. Tracks like “Manderine Girl”, “Body Language” and “In White Rooms” epitomised the Get Physical sound, smashed dancefloors globally and lead to tour slots alongside Royksopp and Depeche Mode. Booka Shade shows combine the deep, warm, pulsing electronics characterised by the Get Physical stable with the unique energy of live performance in order to create a truly unique show. Get ready for another amazing night down on Store Street and one of the highlights of the Summer clubbing calendar.

Get ready for a big one as the Turbo Recordings crew touch down for a huge party down at The Warehouse Project. Headed up by Tiga, The Montreal based label has quickly become recognised through their ability to source and release high quality, cutting edge electronic music. Big hitters like Boys Noize, Chromeo and The Hacker as well as emerging artists like Les Petits Pilous and Duke Dumont, have all released on the Turbo imprint as the label set out to avoid trends and obvious fads in a bid to forge their own sound. So what can we expect from the Turbo Recordings party?! First and foremost expect electro Chameleon Tiga to blow you away with a load of records that you wished you owned. Expect electro, techno, loads of dancefloor pogo and the roof likely to come off if he plays “Pleasure From The Bass”. And then we have our favourite bootleg reprobate Mr. Erol Alkan. We all know what happens when this guy plays at The Warehouse ProjectGenre defying sets that make you rave like a bad man, hug strangers and grin like a loon. Last but not least, New York based Hercules & Love Affair perform live for the first time in Manchester. If you haven’t heard of these guys yet you soon will. Described as “a pan sexual mix for our troubled times” the band consist of producer Andy Butler, a transsexual singer called Nomi, an Hawaiian lesbian by the name of Kim Ann and sometime collaborator Anthony Heagrty (he of Anthony and The Johnsons fame). Luckily for us their music is every bit as interesting as the members of the band suggest with their trademark sound reminiscent of the halcyon days of vintage disco. Sound’s good to us. Who’s in?!
