Wednesday 25th October will mark a new chapter for the YETI boys. With a headline London date long overdue, and a highly anticipated record release, the hype around this gig has already reached fever pitch. With an underground following that grows by the day, the boys are gearing up for the full YETI invasion.
Presented by the peerless Club Fandango, The Water Rats is the perfect setting, for the lucky few, to get up close and personal with the super talented quintet who will be performing tracks from One Eye On The Banquet, their EP due for release on 30th October.
For those lucky enough to get tickets, you can expect a show of quirky, bluesy, 60's influenced acoustic rock. Yeti's impeccable taste and incredible musicianship ensure they will be delivering it with a their staple non-arrogant, non-aggressive self-belief. With clear influences from the likes of: The Velvet Underground and the Beatles this is timeless music fashioned by instruments and a rare treat for London.
The band came together through friends of friends of friends and they now write and record collectively in North London. Lead singer John Hassall has a past that needs no real introduction. If you haven't been on planet earth for the last couple of years, he was the bassist in a small band called the Libertines. John's effortlessly cool vocals are supported by Harmony Williams who also plays guitar; likewise for Andrew Deian and keeping the rhythm section in tact is Graham Blacow on drums. Last but not least is Brendan Kersey on bass.
The past 12 months have seen them complete a sell out tour across Europe and Asia supporting Oasis. Their most recent headline tour of America's West Coast also saw them win over a whole new set of ardent followers. In addition to this, the boys have been nestled in the studio working on their new album with American producer Craig Silvey (Magic Numbers and The Coral), and, 'One Eye On The Banquet' is just a taste of what's to come from the masterful 5-piece.
